Donny Riki is a registered psychotherapist and carries the insights and authority of taonga tuku iho which informs her clinical mahi. She has long standing relationships with whenua and the natural world which spans across generations and through time and shares this relevance to sexualized violence recovery.
Donny’s approach centers inter-generational reclamation of mana to heal from ongoing colonial violence, using mana-informed Response-Based counselling practice. She is interested in the intersection between violence towards Indigenous women and girls, and violence towards Papatūānuku.
Donny champions mana motuhake / Tino Rangatiratanga - Indigenous rights, equity and social justice in Aotearoa and works exclusively with Māori and Pasifika tangata whaiora / whānau in her clinical mahi. She is also a researcher, supervisor, artist, restorative justice facilitator and lover of puppies.
